About the PositionJob Title: Cardiovascular Technologist II Profession: Cardiovascular Technologist Specialty: - Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Days Hours per Shift: 10 Experience: Minimum of one year full-time experience as a certified or registered cardiovascular or radiologic technology professional in the specialty required by the hiring department preferred. License: Required education includes an associate's degree or higher. Certifications: AHA BLS; ARRT Cardiovascular Interventional Radiography (CV) or completion of paramedic training program at time of hire. Must-Have: - Core to intermediate-level knowledge and understanding of normal and abnormal anatomy and physiology. - Ability to prioritize and complete clinical or non-clinical work assignments independently with limited direction. - Ability to work with minimum supervision and demonstrate attention to detail. - Ability to maintain accurate records and work accurately with names, numbers, and codes. - Must be able to multi-task and remain calm in stressful situations. Description: Under general to limited supervision and direction, this intermediate-level position is responsible for delivering specialized cardiovascular and/or radiologic technology services to adult and/or pediatric patient populations. The goal is to aid medical staff in the diagnosis, care, treatment, and surveillance of simple to complex conditions, defects, and/or diseases. This position involves maintaining competencies required for essential duties and responsibilities. Utilizing professional knowledge and skills, the technologist provides high quality, efficient, and cost-effective patient-centered care. They prepare patients for procedures and correlate clinical history with physician orders. Effective communication and collaboration with patients, families, and multidisciplinary care teams are essential to achieving desired clinical outcomes. A variety of highly specialized imaging equipment and techniques will be utilized to perform diagnostic and interventional procedures. Post-procedure reviews are conducted to confirm that all required study elements are completed and documented according to established protocols. The technologist transfers images and data to appropriate archival systems, entering technical data/findings for reporting by physician. They perform quality control checks, cleaning, and maintenance on equipment per manufacturer and regulatory guidelines. Participation in continuing education, professional development, and research activities is encouraged to maintain competencies and promote continuous improvements in care. Instruction and mentorship for less experienced team members is a key responsibility. Performing quality assurance and performance improvement tasks as assigned is also part of the role. Call is required during evenings and weekends with a rotational schedule.
