About Position:
This position administers the prescribed therapeutic radiation dose to a predetermined treatment area for patients. You are also accountable for the localization procedures necessary for preparing the patients for radiation treatments, as well as, provide support, education and teaching to cancer patients and their families and are also required to assist in onboarding new team members and educate students.
Responsibilities:
- Evaluate and prioritize his/her job and must demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care, based upon physical, motor/sensory, psychosocial, and safety appropriate to the age of the patient served.
- Provide optimal patient care through assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients and families and will meet standards of quality as measured by the unit/department age specific competency standards.
- Exceedingly accurate in all tasks, realizing the effects of their tasks.
- Responsible for administering radiation, performing localization, basic dosimetry, custom block fabrication, charting, performing nursing and secretarial support and other related tasks.
- Required to operate linear accelerators and simulators. Also operate electronic health records, record and verify system and other software programs within the department. In addition, the position requires skin instruction proficiency, phone, and EMR skills.
- Demonstrate proficiency in body mechanics, fire safety, infection control, patient safety and CPR.
- Complete annual core competencies, specific to department workflow, to work on completion of the Core RT Competency and the Development Ladder Skills for this level upon completion of Staff RT requirements. The Core RT Competency and Development Ladder will be completed within 3 months of completion of Staff requirements and then assessed annually after the first completion.

Qualifications - Required and/or Preferred
Education: Must have working-level knowledge of the English language, including reading, writing and speaking English. Graduation from an accredited Radiation Therapy Program is required.
License(s): State of Nevada license in Radiation Therapy is required upon hire.
Certification(s): AHA BLS and ARRT certifications are required upon hire.
Computer / Typing: Must possess, or be able to obtain within 90 days, the computers skills necessary to complete online learning requirements for job-specific competencies, access online forms and policies, complete online benefits enrollment, etc.
